1. What this platform publishes

KathaLanka publishes original fictional stories in Sinhala and English. Everything on this platform — every character, place, event and relationship — is a work of fiction. Stories are written by or submitted to the editorial team and are intended for adult readers aged 18 and over.

2. The 18+ rule

This platform is restricted to adults. When a story contains sexual or romantic content:

• every character involved must be explicitly stated to be 18 years of age or older;
• no character may have an ambiguous age;
• no minor may be sexualised in any way;
• no school-age framing may be used in a sexual context;
• age-play or other devices that imply a minor are prohibited.

3. Prohibited content

The following content is prohibited and will be removed:

• sexual content involving minors, or content that otherwise sexualises minors;
• ambiguous-age sexual characters (where age cannot be confirmed as 18+);
• school-age sexual characters, including uniforms, classrooms or similar settings used sexually;
• non-consensual sexual activity;
• sexual content depicting real individuals;
• trafficking, sexual coercion or exploitation;
• real-life documentation or testimony presented as fiction;
• illegal content of any kind.

4. How content is checked

Every story is prepared for publication by the editorial team. The 18+ rule, fictionality, consent and platform policy are enforced before any story goes live, and content that violates this policy is removed or prevented from being published.

5. Reader responsibilities

By reading this platform you confirm that you are at least 18 years old. Fictional stories explore adult themes; if any content upsets or concerns you, you may stop reading at any time and report it.

6. Reporting violations

Readers can report underage content, non-consensual content, real-person content, copyright violations and other policy breaches using the report form. Reports are reviewed by the platform team and kept confidential.

7. Enforcement

Verified violations lead to immediate removal of content, restriction or removal of publishing rights, and — for severe violations such as suspected underage content — referral to the relevant authorities.
